Client Brief

The client approached us wanting a dedicated garden room to work as a professional home office. They wanted a space that would provide separation from the main house whilst offering a comfortable, inspiring environment for work.

The garden contained a wonderful, mature tree that needed to be incorporated into the design rather than removed.

Solution

We designed a spacious 4.5m x 3.5m garden office with modern features to create both visual impact and practical workspace. The layout was planned to maximise the available garden space whilst working with existing features, particularly the mature tree that was to be preserved and incorporated into the design.

A standout feature of the design is the impressive 2.6m aluminium bifold doors that create a great connection between the office and garden. These are complemented by a 600mm floor-to-ceiling window to the side, flooding the workspace with natural light and providing inspiring views of the garden.

The exterior features a distinctive 600mm overhang and side detail, all clad in premium Radiata pine to match the main structure. This architectural element adds visual interest whilst providing practical weather protection.

We installed Cladco composite decking to the front of the room and around the tree at the side to carefully integrate the structure with nature.
