Client Brief

The client wanted a dedicated garden room to serve as a professional home office.

They wanted a compact, functional, fully insulated space that would provide separation from the main house whilst offering a comfortable and motivating place to work from.

Solution

We designed an 3.2m x 2.5m garden office that maximised every bit of available space. Despite the modest footprint, the interior comfortably accommodates a nice work desk and a sofa area.

We installed 1.8m French doors to give the space excellent light levels. These doors can also be fully opened in the summer months for al fresco working. Two 600mm floor-to-ceiling windows on either side of the garden office complement the French doors. These additions bring in tonnes more light and further enhance the sense of space and connection with the outdoors.

The use of soft furnishings and natural light combined with good insulation and a small radiator really make this office a great, cosy space to work from.

On the exterior, we installed Hardie Plank cement fibre cladding in Midnight Black. This gives the office a bold, modern appearance.
