Client Brief

The client wanted a high-spec garden room to serve mainly as a home office. They wanted a well-equipped space that would feel inspiring on a daily basis, with the added practicality of an internal store room to keep the main workspace clean and uncluttered.

Garden Office Solution

We designed a well-proportioned 5.2m x 3.4m garden room to sit at the back of their long garden. To the front of the office are a set of impressive 2.6m aluminium bifold doors that sit beautifully within the 600mm overhang and side detail to give the room a distinctive look.

The overhang and side detail are clad in Cladco composite, which complements the Thermowood cladding on the rest of the main structure. Cladco composite decking runs across the front and side of the building to create a fantastic and low-maintenance outdoor area that ties the whole design together beautifully.

On the left hand elevation is a 600mm floor-to-ceiling window to allow in extra natural light and add more visual interest. Internally is a full electrical package including the installation of a Samsung air conditioning unit – a popular upgrade on our higher specification builds. Accessed via an internal door, the internal store room keeps the main office space clear and professional.

Project Outcome

The completed garden office sits at the top end of what a home workspace can be. It’s great to look at, an inspiring place to work but also functional. As with all of our garden room builds, it’s key to get this balance right. We think it’s perfect on this project.
